Microchipping

A simple, quick, easy procedure that causes little discomfort for our equine friend.  The size of a grain of rice, each microchip has a unique number (detected by a microchip scanner).

Microchipping your horse and completing registration with an animal registry can help you find your horse if it is lost or stolen, or in an emergency situation, such as a natural disaster.  Be sure if you move to update your information with the animal registry as this is the responsibility of the Owner, not the veterinarian.

There are also a number of equestrian organizations that require horse participants to be microchipped.
