Dentistry
We offer power and hand float dental examinations. It is currently recommended to have your horse's teeth checked twice yearly and floated at an appropriate time interval (usually every 6-12 months). Often teeth checks can be performed at the same time as the vaccination appointment. Horses that drop their food, are losing weight, or have problems chewing should be seen by a veterinarian. Regular attention to your horse's teeth helps to prevent bit issues, weight loss, and painful sharp points as the teeth grow.
Prepurchase Examination
Buying a new horse? A thorough prepurchase examination provides an unbiased, professional review of the horse's physical and mental capabilities. The intended use of the horse, whether for show or pleasure, is kept in mind. The horse does not 'pass' or 'fail' a prepurchase, but rather all physical exam findings are noted and thoroughly discussed with the potential buyer. Radiographs can be performed as part of the exam to provide a baseline for future comparison or to sleuth out any bony problems.

Elective Surgery
A full surgical suite and a recovery/induction padded stall allow us to perform elective surgeries that require gas anesthesia. Surgeries routinely performed at our facility include neurectomies, mass removals, castrations, hernia repairs, and laceration/wound repair.
Lameness Evaluation
When your horse becomes unsound, let us help you localize the problem area and suggest a course of treatment. A lameness exam involves watching the horse move in a straight line and on the circle. Nerve blocks are employed to localize the area of pain. If indicated, radiographs or an ultrasound exam is performed to more accurately diagnose the lameness.
Endoscopy
Got Ulcers? Coughing? Our 1- and 3- meter endoscopes are capable of imaging the upper airway and stomach to diagnose problems in these areas.
